The Rotary Club of Ukiah and the South Ukiah Rotary Club are presenting an event, Guitars for the Troops, on Nov. 11, 2011 at Carl Purdy Hall. This event will provide funds to supply guitars to our troops stationed here and abroad which they can use for entertainment and education during their rest times. Several local bands, including Sudden Turn, Funky Dozen, Waylon and the Wildcats and McKenna Faith, have donated their time as entertainment at this event. Tickets are $10 for admission and a barbecue meal can be purchased at the event for $10. Tickets are on sale at Dig! Music or from any Ukiah Rotarian.

We've got a video of our Rocket Ship repair at Todd Grove Park in Ukiah!
George Phelan took the photos and video of Lee Kraemer and Rich Burns doing work on the nose cone. They removed the old chipped and peeling nose cone and had it powder-coated with red paint. Then they reinstalled it. Other Rotary members painted other parts of the rocket and helped with this project.

We've started to repair the rocket ship at Todd Grove Park! Friday, Sept. 19, 2009, we started the process of repainting and restoring the rocket. The nose cone will be powder-coated and a new slide and stairway will be added to bring the rocket ship up to code for children to safely play on it again. Here are some photos of the rocket before painting and repair and a couple Rotary Club members starting the process of restoring the rocket ship.
